In Appreciation of 2023

At the beginning of this new year, I wanted to share a few words of appreciation for the rich, beautiful processes and connections that 2023 brought me.
In June, I performed a short solo that was the fruit of 2 years I spent learning with and from my group at the school of Laboratorio Teatro in Barcelona. It was an incredible privilege to witness the progress and growth in my companions. (Here is the link to a 5-minute trailer for ‘My Travel Companion’.)

In August, I was invited to join the staff of Mosaic, a week-long camp for thirty 10–12-year-olds from the greater NYC area. Conceived 10 years ago by Arnold Miller, a family friend, it is a way to offer more children in the NYC chapter of Children’s International Summer Villages (CISV) the experience of the challenges and rewards of forging community from a culturally diverse group of individuals. It was a joy and an inspiration to meet and get to know my colleagues!

Two of my new friends almost immediately invited me to join them on a trip to Oaxaca, Mexico during Día de Muertos, November 1st, which was something I had hoped to do for quite some time. This turned out to be a magical experience! I couldn’t have wished for more open yet laid-back travel companions on what was, at times, an intensely personal journey.

I hope that 2023 also brought you a few luscious strawberries ❣️

Here’s to a joyous, healthy and peaceful 2024 ✨
